Maximus 22×30 German Shepherd Watercolor
People seem to really respond to shepherds. I knew this dog Maximus personally, somebody abandoned him. Luckily he wandered onto a ranch owned by some friends of mine. Maximus was a great dog, eventually I painted him just for fun. Max’s owner ended up buying the painting from me instead. About a year later, the 2003 Cedar fire storms hit San Diego and burned through the ranch where they lived. Nobody I knew was hurt in the blaze, and Maximus, the real dog survived. However, the painting of him sadly, did not.
